YJ Front Drive Shaft, Standard

Front drive shaft for Jeep YJ. For use with most YJs with manually locking hubs or other type of front axle disconnect. If your front axles cannot be disengaged see our double cardan style front shaft. Shaft is not to be used with shackle reversal spring setup. If you have a shackle reversal, look here instead. 

YJ front drive shaft replacement is a good idea for almost any YJ that is still running a stock drive shaft. YJ stock front drive shafts used fairly low grade components. Add a lift, bigger tires, and 25+ years of wear and tear and the result could be badly worn or even worse a broken stock drive shaft. Tom Wood's YJ drive shafts are built using only the highest quality components.

Jeep YJ front drive shaft lengths vary a bit and we want to make sure you get the right thing. That is why we require a length measurement before building the shaft. Measuring is simple and easy. You can read more about how to measure in the link below.

95 YJ Tom Wood’s driveshaft’s

Changed both front and rear driveshafts to Tom Wood’s. Much larger than the stock shafts. No vibration and another step closer to hardening my overland rig.

Good quality driveshafts I'm very happy with them

I ordered both front and rear driveshaft for my YJ Jeep they both arrived in good condition. Welds and appearance are good. fit is good as ordered. I thought that I had measured wrong for the front shaft but after a conversation with Sean it turns out I measured correctly. He was very courteous and professional in our conversation. if you read my review for the rear shaft I believe I mistakenly only left four stars it should have been five. bottom line is I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend Tom Woods to anybody

Jeep Wrangler YJ loves Woods Drive shaft!!

I recently ordered a Tom Wood's standard grease-able front drive shaft for my 1994 Jeep Wrangler YJ. I got it to help with drive line vibrations that limited me to 55 mph or less. The drive shaft arrived earlier than expected, it's a top notch quality product, considerably more "beefy" than the OEM shafts, the extended splines are way longer, the universal joints are much better than parts store versions. All in all I am thrilled with this drive shaft, the vibrations are all but gone!!!! I'll be back to Tom Wood's for a new rear drive shaft!!
