Tail Shaft Conversion Kits

Double Cardan Conversion

The drive shafts shown are for full sized GM motors products the top shaft is made for older applications (fixed yoke out-put) for either the New Process model 203 & 205 transfer case. The bottom shaft (original reverse slip drive shaft) would be used in either the New Process model 208 or 241 transfer case.

There are a few 205 transfer cases that originally used a reverse slip drive shaft and some 208 & 241 (Dodge) that originally used a fixed yoke out-put. This type of conversion can be done for any of these transfer cases. We can do this conversion using a reworked factory original CV assembly or in cases where a greater stroke or strength is required, with the 1350 series CV.

This type of conversion is not recommended for the New Process 231 or 242 transfer case. In these application we suggest one of the tail shaft conversions.

Plan on spending between $250 (modify your existing reverse slip drive shaft) and $379 to $529 for a new fixed yoke type out-put drive shaft with the required yoke, nut, seal and drive shaft.

The Double cardan conversion is very easily done on Jeep applications using any of the Dana/Spicer transfer cases. For these applications Budget between $269 to $369 for the drive shaft. The cost will depend on what you want in regards to quality, cost & features. It may also require changing your transfer case out-put yoke ($60 to $90).
