Constant communication from the first email till it was shipped. Logistically lightning fast build and ship. Install was straight forward and well laid out. Before the Run up and test, I was nervous that I would be "that guy" this didn't work for... boy was I wrong. 10 years of highway speed vibrations gone. Now, I WANT to drive my CJ5 on the pavement. Don't put off getting a Tom Woods driveline. Worth every penny.
Tom Woods Custom Drive Shafts is an incredible organization! Very professional, courteous, and most importantly knowledgeable! I recommend this company without reservation! Jon was incredible! Thank God for the “fly over” region of America!
The installation went with out issues I am still building so haven’t tested it yet. I have a couple weeks to go.
Great HD replacement for the original. Balanced well, no vibration. Grease fittings on everything including the centering ball.
I put an Old Man Emu kit (YJ conversion set up) on my CJ-7. It put the Jeep up about 2.5 to 3" from stock. Perfect amount of lift except for the transmission drop spacers (designed to prevent driveline binding) that created a clearance issue in the engine compartment. So I took the spacers out and had a highway speed vibration. So i clocked the rear end a little and had a slow speed binding. Probably had both but couldn't tell?
So I did what every self-respecting home-shop car nut would do... I made contact with Tom Woods about it, got the recommendation to buy a double-cardan shaft and yoke, made the measurements and bought it all online, made just for my rig. Installation took about an hour including the new yoke.
I took care to set this up properly, and it just so happened that I had already put the right size wedges under the axle to make the double-cardan shaft work properly. Now I've got nothing. Not nothing in a bad way, but nothing in a GOOD way. As in, NO BINDING and NO VIBRATIONS. I can't say enough good things about this purchase.
