ZJ or WJ Rear Drive Shaft, Double Cardan
Rear drive shaft for either the Jeep ZJ or WJ Grand Cherokee. Double cardan type shaft, also known as a CV. This is what you need if your Jeep is lifted and you are experiencing vibrations or other problems due to increased angles. Shaft is made to be used with our 242HD SYE which uses a flat flange on the rear output of the transfer case. If you have an SYE that uses a 1310 series yoke at the transfer case you'll need this shaft instead.
Tom Wood's Grand Cherokee drive shafts are built using only the highest quality components. Key features listed below.
- 2.5" diameter 0.083" wall USA made DOM tube.
- Forged slip yoke.
- Greaseable CV center ball.
- Your choice between Tom Wood's exclusive Gold Seal greaseable universal joints or non-greaseable joints.
- Best of all every shaft is custom built to whatever length you need. So you can be sure that you will get the right thing the first time around.
Jeep Grand Cherokee rear drive shaft lengths vary a bit and we want to make sure you get the right thing. That is why we require a length measurement before building the shaft. Measuring is simple and easy. There are photos in the product photos showing how to measure.
IMPORTANT You must also measure the joint size where the shaft attaches to the rear axle. There are two possible joint sizes. Select the size that fits your yoke.
We recommend a new set of straps and bolts to securely attach your new drive shaft.
This paired with my 242HD SYE got rid of my driveline vibes. Good quality driveshaft, fast shipping, and the price is good.
This was a high quality build. So pleased with Tom woods products. Excellent!! So happy with my purchase.
Have their SYE for 242HD and just picked up their rear drive shaft. Outstanding quality all around and prompt delivery.
I just received my shaft today and installed it immediately. Like I said about the Woods front shaft I installed a week ago this thing is almost too pretty to hide under the rig. I rebuilt a 242HD case for my 04 Grand, the shaft is made for it and of course fit like a glove. I have a 3.5" lift with IRO long arms which gave some pretty good vibes, I am very happy to say they are gone! Smooth like pudding even at 80 mph, a speed I would not even attempt previously. If anyone is considering a Woods shaft just do it, I am very impressed with the workmanship and the quickness in which I received it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
