Dodge Ram 1500 Front Drive Shaft
Replace your worn out stock CV shaft with a double cardan. The stock CV joints fail quickly on lifted trucks. The double cardan design replaceable u-joints for better wear and function through the increased angles found on lifted Dodge 1500 trucks.
This will not work on 5th generation Dodge 1500 trucks, trucks built in 2019-present. If you have a 2019 or newer truck please contact Drivelines Plus.
Make sure your truck uses a flange at the axle like shown our photos on this page. Measure your flange bolt pattern and select the one that matches in the dropdown menu. Both flange patterns are actually slightly larger than what is listed, if you are measuring with calipers you may come up with slightly different numbers. We just rounded down to leave out 1/32 fractions which confuse most people.
While installing a lift on my 2013 Ram 1500 I found my front drive shaft was binding at the front U joint. Since this part was not serviceable and the factory drive shaft has a CV joint at the transfer-case I went around to my local drive shaft shops to see if I could get something made that would not only be serviceable in the future but be much stronger. With no luck in finding a shop that would do what I was looking for at a reasonable price I went to the internet for recommendations. Tom Wood's drive shaft came up with exactly what I was looking for. I took the basic measurements that the web site required and placed my order on a Friday afternoon. Mid day on Monday I got the email that my drive shaft was built and on its way. I received the drive shaft Wednesday and installed it within 15 min. I have nothing but good things to say about this company and I would recommend this product and the company's service to anyone that is looking for a drive shaft to get their vehicle back up and running in a speedy time frame.
