Gladiator Rear Drive Shaft

Tom Wood’s upgraded 1350 series Double Cardan (CV) rear drive shaft for your Jeep JT Gladiator. This will only fit JT models with the Dana 44 rear end.

Our most heavy duty standard production shaft yet. The shaft is built using 1350 series joints, a 3.5" diameter heavy wall DOM tube, and has a heavy duty long cut spline for the greatest strength and stability. This shaft is a single straight shaft which eliminates the need for a carrier bearing and the complexity of a two-piece shaft.

Comes with a new output flange for the transfer case and a new u-bolt style yoke for the axle. Includes all required attaching hardware. Built using either our Gold Seal  greaseable universal joints or non-greaseable universal joints. If your lift didn't come with adjustable control arms you may need to purchase some to correctly adjust the rear pinion angle so that it is in-line with the drive shaft.

We'll need a measurement to build the shaft. Just measure as shown in the photo in the product photos on this page. The measurement can be taken with or without the stock shaft installed.

One piece rear driveshaft could make contact at full bump

2022 gladiator with Accuair dynamic lift

I bought the front and rear- ordering and install were simple, watched a good YouTube video for added confidence, but it was a breeze.

When I cycled my lift from full lift to full squat the crossmember where the carrier bearing used to be made hard contact with the driveshaft before resting fully on the bump stops. I’ll have to modify that cross member, which isn’t a problem for me, but I think it should be noted somewhere on the one piece drive shaft information page. I called to chat about it and was told that I could return it for a full refund. It’s not a big deal, but could be for someone else.

Aside from the new strong, components, quality build, and increased articulation angles … A major vibration that my Jeep had since I got it has gone away, and I can now stop cursing the tires, even some death wobble has disappeared.

Take off, and acceleration are much improved with the one piece rear driveshaft. The absence of vibration in the front end is amazing with the new front driveshaft.

I would absolutely recommend these after having put a few thousand miles on and hundreds off road.

I’ve also had several driveshafts made for other projects at local shops, I always wanted to try Tom Woods because their price was about the same as the local guys. I wish I had done this years ago, price quality, and turnaround time is far better than my local guys who have disappointed me more than once.

Tom Woods rear driveshaft for Jeep Gladiator

To whom it may concern: I bought a rear drive shaft with 1350 u joints for strength. I'm running 40 inch tires. I have a trussed rear D44 with chromoly axle shafts. Naturally I wanted the "Best"!! Install took about 2.5 hours laying on a creeper. Took it for a ride and smooth as silk. Thanks Tom Woods for a nicely built shaft!! I'll be buying a front shaft next!! Thanks again Dee.

Just as expected

This is my 4th driveline from Tom woods, as always great quality and goes in right as expected. No excess vibration either. Top notch
