TJ Front Drive Shaft
Front drive shaft for Jeep TJ or LJ. Does not fit Rubicon model.
TJ front drive shaft replacement is a good idea for almost any TJ that is still running a stock drive shaft. TJ stock front drive shafts used fairly low grade components. Add a lift, bigger tires, and 14+ years of wear and tear and the result could be badly worn or even worse a broken stock drive shaft. Tom Wood's TJ drive shafts are built using only the highest quality components. Key features listed below.
- 2" diameter 0.120" wall USA made DOM tube.
- Bigger and stronger than stock spline stub.
- Forged slip yoke.
- Greaseable CV center ball.
- Your choice between Tom Wood's exclusive Gold Seal greaseable universal joints or Spicer non-greaseable joints.
- Comes with new CV bolts with reduced head for ease of installation.
- Best of all every shaft is custom built to whatever length you need. So you can be sure that you will get the right thing the first time around.
Jeep TJ front drive shaft lengths vary a bit and we want to make sure you get the right thing. That is why we require a length measurement before building the shaft. Measuring is simple and easy. You can read more about how to measure in the link below.
We recommend a new set of straps and bolts to securely attach your new drive shaft.
Amazing quality and the shipping speed was in under a week. Looks and feels great on my rig.
Called the support line and got great help in making sure my measurements were on. It was delivered to Michigan in about 4 days and install was a breeze. Seems to be balanced perfectly. Very happy with the price paid for the product I received. I’ll turn to Tom Woods for any future needs.
Always have great success with all my Tom Woods driveshafts. They look great, perform great, always balanced perfectly. I’ve ordered all my driveshafts from Tom Woods over the years and never had a single problem. Great company to deal with. AND they’ll customize your shaft to almost any configuration you want.
I ordered new front and rear driveshafts from TW's at the same time. Specifically for this review of the front shaft, after fitting it and driving with it I am happy with the shaft. I ordered mine with the X spline in the XB variant with the rubber boot. Looking back at this process now I probably would have ordered the shaft in the XC configuration without the boot due to the stiffness of the rubber boot being a little tricky to pull towards the front axle yoke during installation, and also for peace of mind so I could check how much spline length I have exposed.
Just installed my new Tom Woods front driveshaft in my TJ. As usual the quality is top notch and fit perfect. This is my 3rd purchase from them, a few years ago I replaced the rear shaft when I added a SYE. And the first time was way back in the very very late 90’s when I added a SYE to my YJ.
I may not be their biggest customer. But I am and always will be a loyal customer!!!
Thanks for doing all that you do!!!
