Slip Yoke Eliminator kit for the 242J transfer case. This will work with either the early or late model NP242J transfer case as long as it is the type that uses the stock 27 spline rear output shaft. It will not work on the 242HD transfer cases that came stock with a 32 spline rear output shaft. If you have the 242HD transfer case you should look at our 242HD-SYE. The shaft is self is very good except the small bur on the end of the spline which stopped the oil pump going on. I was able fix it with a dremil. The main shaft bearing in the kit wasn't pushed home by about 1/4" which prevented neutral and full time 4wd from being selected. It took me 3 day to work this out and refitting the t-case many many times. So unnecessary. This was a rather poor experience. The product itself is very good. I also had the remove a collar from the old small housing and install in on the new housing. Didnt see this mentioned in the instructions. All working now.
Awesome kit for folks with the 242 transfer case and super cool that tom woods is the only company to make this SYE kit. Easy installation with instructions, also watched the attached video for reference. Plus it was delivered in a couple of days!
