Samurai Drive Shaft, Double Cardan

Double cardan type, also known as a CV. This is what you need if your Suzuki Samurai is lifted and you are experiencing vibrations or other problems due to increased angles.  We also sell a stock style Suzuki drive shaft with a single joint at each end. If you aren't sure what type you need, give us a call. Suzuki Samurai drive shaft replacement is a good idea for almost any Sammy that is still running a stock drive shaft. Suzuki stock drive shafts used fairly small and low grade components. Add a lift, bigger tires, and decades of wear and tear and the result could be badly worn or even worse a broken stock drive shaft. Tom Wood's Suzuki drive shafts are built using only the highest quality components. Key features listed below.

  • Double Cardan design for smoother operation on lifted vehicles.
  • 2" diameter 0.120" wall USA made DOM tube.
  • Bigger and stronger than stock spline stub.
  • Forged slip yoke.
  • 1310 series joints. Your choice between Tom Wood's exclusive Gold Seal greaseable universal joints or non-greaseable joints.
  • Best of all every shaft is custom built to whatever length you need. So you can be sure that you will get the right thing the first time around.

Samurai drive shaft lengths and flange patterns vary a bit and we want to make sure you get the right thing. That is why we require measurements before building the shaft. Measuring is simple and easy. You can read more about how to measure in the link below. If shaft length is shorter than 21 inches there is not enough room for X spline and you must select S spline.

Samurai Drive Shaft, Double Cardan

Wow! One week turnaround from order to my front porch. Really high quality, great price. My lifted Samurai has no more vibrations or strange noises! Thanks

Love It!

Ordered a CV shaft for my samurai with a tracker rear, and it’s awesome. I was able to ditch my driveshaft spacers, and lessen some vibration. The holes for the transfer case side were a little small and I had to drill them out, but axle side fit perfect. Thanks guys!

Read the Instructions!!!

I recently ordered a driveshaft for the rear driveshaft for my 87 Samurai because the stock one was vibrating and it was weak.So I have a YJ suspension and 4.9 transfer gears and dummy me, I didn’t read the instructions. So if you install a CV driveshaft you don’t have the axle angled towards the transfer case it will run horrible, but I called the shop and John was a huge help and now it’s running Great! Thanks Buddy
I installed some leaf springs shims to get it angled!!!

Information and Instructions for measurements are spot on. Service was super fast and quality product. Driveline bolted right up. Double cardon solved my samurai vibrations. I have around 8” of lift and front driveshaft has always been troublesome.

Amazing quality and fast service

I can't believe how well built this drive shaft is and it eliminated all the vibration i had in the drive line. I have a 1992 Samurai with a YJ SPOA suspension with samurai axles and a 6.5 to 1 transfer case. And I was really impressed on how quickly it arrived to me in Canada. And it was so nice not to hear "because of Covid your order will be delayed." These folks don't fool around, I will definitely be using Tom Woods drive shafts in all my projects. Great job !
