Toyota CV Drive Shaft

If you have an SAS, leaf springs with more than 4 inches of lift, or something else that is creating a unique set of problems give us a call for more info as this shaft will not work for your application.

This is what you need if your Toyota is lifted and you are experiencing vibrations due to increased angles. Also a great upgrade for Toyota that came with a stock double cardan drive shaft. This will not work for any Toyota trucks that have a solid axle swap (SAS). This is also only for vehicles with a drive shaft length of 40" or less. For shafts longer than 40", look here. If your shaft length is less than 19.75" you will have to select the S spline. If you have an SAS or something else that is creating a unique set of problems give us a call for more info.

Toyota drive shaft lengths and flange patterns vary. In our experience there is no single standard length or flange patterns for any particular model. To ensure that you get the right thing you will need to take a couple measurements before ordering your drive shaft. You need to measure the distance from your transfer case flange to your differential flange. You will also need to measure the bolt pattern at each end. It is important that you measure the bolt pattern on each end because they are often not the same at both ends.

Key product features

  • Uses 1310 series universal joints. These are the most common size of u-joint there is. Replacement joints are much easier to find than stock Toyota style joints.
  • Shaft uses 2" diameter .120" wall DOM steel tubing. Better quality and thicker tubing than stock Toyota shafts use.
  • Can be built using our greaseable Goldseal universal joints or non-greaseable Spicer joints.
  • Includes 8 new 10mm bolts and nuts which may be required at either end of the shaft.

Please check out our Toyota tech page below. If you have any questions along the way, give us a call.

Watch this video for a demonstration on measuring. The vehicle in the video is a Tacoma but the concept is the same for any Toyota.

To many mistakes

Ordered my drive shaft in time for trip a couple weeks away. Got it fast and went out to install it for a test drive. One side would not fit so pulled it out and measured the flange. It was wrong. Checked the ordering information and it was ordered properly. Called the next day and they quickly remedied the situation and shipped me a new driveline and the labels to ship the other drive shaft back. Got it in time for my trip but it came with the xc wiper not the Xb boot that was ordered. I removed the boot on the other drive shaft before shipping it back and installed in on the new one so I wouldn't get this Arizonia sand in slip yoke. Ordering was very easy and shipping was fast but making a mistake on two driveshafts in a row is not a good record. The product is great though and works great but it sure is frustrating dealing with an issue that is caused by not paying attention to what was ordered on paper.

Excellent product and support

There was a real person on the other end of the line every time I had a question or concern. The quality of the product was never in doubt; the superior customer service and support makes dealing with any/all of the staff at Wood’s like an added bonus.
Thanks!
