Double Cardan Land Rover Drive Shaft, Land Rover Propshaft
Shaft fits most Land Rover applications that use a 4 bolt flange at each end. Does not fit Discovery 2 front nor any Land Rover shaft that uses a 3-bolt flange at the axle.
Double cardan shaft, also known as a CV. This is what you need if your vehicle is lifted and you are experiencing vibrations or other problems due to increased angles. On rear shafts, perfectly smooth operation may require adjustment of rear pinion angle. Shaft is built with 1310 series joints, fully greaseable unless specified otherwise.
After installing a 3" lift and castor correcting radius arms on my 2003 D2 I felt the need to upgrade the rear rotoflex joint style driveshaft and the non serviceable front dual cardan shaft. Since I've had excellent service from Tom Woods in the past the choice was easy. Quick turnaround on my order which I had in my possession within 10 days. After an easy install which required me calling a tech at Tom Woods to clarify the proper installation of the rear shaft I successfully test drove my lifted Rover. I still need to install longer brake hoses and add a 1" spacer to the springs but so far I'm quite happy with the results with a minor shaft rumble at 30mph on acceleration due to pinion angle which will improve with the 1" spacer. Redoing a Series 3 Land Rover with a stubby R380 and Discovery axles. This required special axles due to transmission being pushed 102mm back. Each person that I communicated with at Tom Woods was great, patient and desired to get it correct. The axles went in perfectly. I was educated on how to measure the castor angles and feel confident all is perfect. Hats off to the Woods Team, very motivated group. Would recommend!
