Sometimes your drive shaft gets too familiar with a boulder and your dust cap pays the price. These dust caps function as a wiper seal to keep the grease in your slip yoke and to keep the dirt and water out. If your dust cap is MIA, it is only a matter of time before your slip yoke becomes a stick yoke. But worry not, these are cheap to buy and super easy to replace. Pro tip: When replacing your dust cap, there a few things to pay extra attention to. One is the orientation of the slip yoke. Accidentally changing the orientation of the slip yoke will affect the balance of the shaft. We suggest that you mark the drive shaft and mark the slip yoke before pulling them apart. Then just re-align your marks when putting it back together. Other than that, all you have to do is pull the old dust cap off and then push your slip yoke into the new dust cap. It helps to spray or wipe a bit of oil on the rubber part of the cap first. Now put the shaft back together in the same orientation as when you pulled it apart. That's it, you're all done. Good job!
