Upgraded Socket Flange, Equivalent to Spicer 211229X
If you have an old ford and you're rebuilding your drive shaft you've probably found that the replacement socket flange is outrageously expensive. Anywhere from $300-$500. Let's be honest, there's no reason this part should cost more than $100. But for some reason, unknown to us, Dana/Spicer raised the price on these a year or two ago to 4X-5X the price of other similar Dana/Spicer socket flanges. Even wholesale the spicer flanges cost hundreds of dollars. Fortunately for you, we developed our own interchangeable flange years ago. When we developed our own flange the Spicer flanges were still reasonably priced so price wasn't the reason to change, quality was. Our flanges are made of stronger material but most importantly our flanges are greaseable. The Spicer flange does not have a grease fitting, which means it wears out when it wears out and there is nothing you can do to prolong that. With regular maintenance you can easily get many years of service out of this part.
Unfortunately this will not work on a hack and tap slip yoke eliminator on a Jeep, Specifically the Rubicon Express hack and tap. This is because there is a large protrusion on the hack and tap flange that will not fit into the hole of this socket flange.
