JK Front Drive Shaft, 1310 Series

Jeep JK front drive shaft noise. . . it is a common problem and is inevitable on nearly all lifted Jeep JK Wranglers. It comes down to the design. The stock drive shafts use Rzeppa type CV joints that were designed only to work in stock Jeeps. Two or three inches of lift is enough to cause these CV joints to fail (watch the video below). JK drive shaft rebuild kits just don't cut it. That is why almost all JK drive shaft replacements are upgraded to a double cardan design (a double cardan is also commonly referred to as a cv). The double cardan shaft will handle the angles that your stock drive shaft can not. The double cardan drive shaft is a time tested design that has proven itself in thousands of other Jeeps.

Tom Wood's 1310 series JK front shaft comes with the required output yoke for the transfer case and will bolt directly to your stock pinion flange. If you don't have stock flanges at both the transfer case and axle currently this shaft may not work and you should call us for more information.

Don’t look anywhere else

As a rule I don’t leave reviews but I’m making an exception in this case. I ordered a 1310 front driveshaft for my 2014 JKU. It arrived in a few days, well packaged and in perfect condition. After unboxing the quality was immediately evident. Great looking welds, painted, all greased up. I made a dumbs$$ mistake and had to make a call to their customer service and an honest to god human person in customer service answered the phone. Whaaat? And after talking to him(Cory?) for a couple minutes he had me straightened me and on my way. I’ll be recommending Tom Woods to all my friends.

Approx. 2" lift over time caused the OEM front drive shaft joint to leak grease and make a lot of noise and vibrate. The 1310 Tom Woods front drive shaft fixed all the issues. No noise and vibrations are gone!

It couldn't be easier!

2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with AEV 3.5" lift. I knew that I'd eventually have to replace the drive shaft but I kicked the can down the road until I heard that very familiar CV joint failure click. Measuring, ordering and installing were all brain-dead easy. It's a drive shaft. It does what it's supposed to do. I wish I could see it and show it off, but I can't, so I put Tom Wood stickers on my vehicle and now the world knows that my shaft is a Woody! :) Next up is a 1350 for the rear.
